Ubaek Galbi - Ajung-ri Main Branch
우백갈비 아중리본점 · Jeonbuk · Where to eat
Ubaek Galbi is a charcoal-grilled beef short rib specialty restaurant with its main branch located in Ajung-ri, Jeonju. It features hand-selected kkot galbi and domestically produced Hanwoo 1++ rib meat, which are grilled over charcoal and served with a variety of complementary side dishes. The signature kkot galbi are cut from the 6th to 8th ribs of the cow and are characterized by the rich juiciness and savory flavor of the meat still attached to the bone. They can be ordered in 600g and 900g portions (bone-in), recommended for 2 and 3 people, respectively. Additionally, the restaurant offers Hanwoo 1++ rib meat and garlic-marinated Hanwoo rib meat. You can savor the unique nutty richness of Hanwoo or enjoy the flavor enhanced by garlic seasoning. You can also choose from charcoal-grilled seasoned short ribs and Hanwoo yukhoe (raw beef) seasoned in the southern style, making it a great way to experience a variety of beef flavors according to your preference. The side dish, white kimchi, is made with pureed Naju pears. Myeongi greens are perfect for wrapping around the meat. You can also enjoy shredded green onions seasoned with sesame oil, raw shredded radish, and a trio of assorted pickles. Along with egg and scallion rice flavored with free-range eggs and soy sauce, the restaurant offers handmade bibim naengmyeon made with 19 ingredients, as well as “Halmae Doenjang Sulbap”—a rice dish seasoned with both doenjang and cheonggukjang—allowing you to enjoy the meal to the very end according to your preferences. The restaurant is located on the main road across from the Jeonju Ajung Station Hanok Rail Bike, next to Ajung Elementary School. It is about a 5- to 7-minute drive from Jeonju Station and about 10 to 12 minutes from Jeonju Hanok Village. Parking is convenient, with spaces available behind the restaurant and in the surrounding area.
