About
Wando, the island county at the far south-west tip of the mainland, runs an autumn festival built around its famous abalone and its outlying islands. At the beach park in the county town there is an abalone tasting and sales hall with flash auctions and discounts, local food and culture stalls, and stage programmes from an opening show and a 'romantic autumn island' concert to a singing contest, a bubble magic show and local bands. Island programmes tie in Cheongsando, Bogildo and Saengildo, the Wando Arboretum holds a forest festival, and there are guided walks on stages 86 to 88 of the Namparang coastal trail. Free.
