About
Damyang after dark, staged around Gwanbangjerim — a riverside forest planted in the 1600s to hold back floods and now a national monument — plus the stone flagpole supports at Gaeksa-ri and the five-storey pagoda at Namsan-ri. The programme tells the stories of people Damyang produced: a street play about the magistrate who built the forest, a madang changgeuk honouring Yi Nal-chi, the great Joseon pansori singer born here, a talk concert with piano beneath the flagpole supports, and a family mission built on the Taoist trickster Jeon U-chi, who is said to have trained at Damyang's Yeondongsa Temple. Free, with some market stalls and activities charged.
