About
Sokcho's oldest festival, running since 1966 and now in its 61st year, held beneath Seoraksan at the start of the autumn foliage season. The 2026 theme is 'Seorak, Turning Colour Together'. At its heart is Seorak Sosa, a mountain rite performed at the very first festival and still held today — now with narration and storytelling added so that visitors can follow what is happening. The programme also includes a climb up Dalmabong, a trail otherwise closed to the public, a mountain concert, and a street parade led by residents, schools and local arts groups rather than professional performers
