In mid-September the woodland floor around Yongcheonsa Temple turns solid red as hundreds of thousands of spider lilies flower at once — leafless scarlet blooms on bare stems, a plant long associated with Buddhist temple grounds in Korea. The 27th edition leans towards quiet rather than spectacle: forest-therapy and meditation programmes along the Moaksan trails, walking routes through the flowering colonies, and local food. Free to enter. The bloom is short and weather-dependent, so check timing before travelling.
