A season of hands-on programmes around Namhansanseong, the UNESCO-listed mountain fortress southeast of Seoul. Four strands run across the fortress grounds: traditional-culture workshops, an eco-history camp that explains the fortress ecology with guided walks and natural materials, a performance stage of theatre and Korean traditional music, and a Chuseok holiday special that lights the fortress with music after dark. Programmes run on different days and times, so check the schedule before you go. A good excuse to combine the fortress walk with something more than the view.
