A ten-day food festival, 2 to 11 October, that turns Gwangju's rich food culture into things you can actually do. Master cooks and artisans, young chefs reinterpreting regional dishes, and sustainability-minded food activists all take part. The opening is held at Ogaheon, a traditional hanok. A discount week run with Blue Ribbon Survey, Korea's leading restaurant guide, offers deals at vetted restaurants across the city, and 'Yangnim Spoon Week' spotlights eateries in the historic Yangnim-dong neighbourhood
Sustainable-dining events, including a vegan food trail, add a 'see, eat, learn' strand. A promotional booth runs at the Asia Culture Center during Asia Culture Week.
