About
Daejeon's bakery scene, famous nationwide for Sungsimdang, gets a festival of its own at Expo Science Park beneath the Hanbit Tower. Around 120 local bakeries take part, from the household names to neighbourhood shops, selling freshly baked bread through the afternoon and evening. The festival is as much about supporting small bakers and the old downtown as it is about eating, and it has become one of the city's signature fun events. Go early: popular stalls sell out
