Chae Sung-pil: Earth, Water and the Inscription of Time
Oct 15, 2026 – Nov 16, 2026 · Ulsan, Jung-gu
Chae Sung-pil, known as the ‘artist of earth’, paints with soil dissolved in water, letting it flow, soak in, settle and dry so that gravity and time make the image. The show brings together his Anonymous Land, Reverie of the Earth and Portrait of Water series with the new Inscription works, whose vertical lines are not brushstrokes but traces left by earth, water and pigment, reading from a distance like ridges, valleys and rivers.
