ACC Pansori Series IV — Jeokbyeok: The Red River
Sep 11, 2026 – Sep 12, 2026 · Gwangju, Dong-gu
Pansori is sung storytelling for one voice and one drum, and Jeokbyeokga — the Battle of Red Cliffs — is the most demanding of the five surviving pieces, built around a Chinese war epic and famous for the passage where the dead soldiers sing. This showcase is the fourth in the Asia Culture Center's series reworking the repertoire for a contemporary stage. Free admission, in a building that is itself worth the visit: the ACC is built largely underground beneath the site of the 1980 Gwangju Uprising.
